Alessandra Dissegna
I am Alessandra and I oversee nonfiction and art.
The question I get asked the most is "Isn't Franco here?", which results in a look of bewilderment when I answer, "He's retired." An understandable reaction as Franco is simply Franco – definitely irreplaceable!
This wonderful department allows for a great range from one subject to another, in a continuous discovery of authors and topics. Basically, it grants the possibility of endless in-depth study and the assurance of never being bored.
I have always enjoyed reading, and if I had to point to the book I loved the most, I would say Family Sayings by Natalia Ginzburg.
Lately, I lean mostly toward essays on current affairs, contemporary history, psychological slant, and I have a special interest in poetry. What Franco has most been able to pass on to me, during the months of valuable training at his side, is the passion for a job that is much more than just a job. It has to do with bringing people together, with the exchange of ideas, with the possibility of continuous growth.
