Berni Campagnaro
I am a colleague of Berni's, right now she is checking billing, reviewing general accounting, answering about 30 phone calls, and trying to solve the various that have been submitted to her problems (some utterly trivial, others essential). It is no accident that the most usual phrase among us is "I'll ask Berni," a reassuring mantra we recite in moments of bewilderment. That is why she can't find time to talk about herself right now, she couldn’t possibly take care of yet another assignment. Of course that's not true, she would certainly make it, perhaps looking around to see if any of us need help. But how could she state she is the point of reference for all of us? It would be true, but it would force her to reveal herself, to come out, and that is asking too much of someone who is used to avoiding visibility. So now she is not here, she is busy, and I should be the one to tell you everything she does. She does everything, but the limits of what she does, alas, I really don't know. Stay right there, I'll go ask Berni.
